The Basics

• Power down and unplug your device, as well as any external mice, keyboards, hard drives, etc.

• Make sure the device is turned off, not just in sleep mode.

• For a laptop or desktop: Use a Lysol (or equivalent) wipe to gently clean the keyboard. Make sure the cloth is only slightly damp… any liquid in the keyboard or other openings may cause damage.
• Apple has updated their recommendations to allow the use of a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe or disinfecting wipes to clean screens. (This is not recommended as a long-term solution as repeated use of these types of wipes may damage the material the screens are made from.) DO NOT push down too hard on the screen — it helps to hold the back of the screen with your other hand and use only the pads of your fingertips, not your nails. If the cloth alone does not clean the screen, you can apply a small amount of water to the cloth in order to make it slightly damp. DO NOT spray or apply liquid directly to any part of the device.
• For an iPad: Apple has updated their recommendations to allow the use of a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe or disinfecting wipes to clean screens. (This is not recommended as a long-term solution as repeated use of these types of wipes may damage the material the screens are made from.) General Cleaning Precautions (from Apple.com)

Apple products are made with a variety of materials, and each product might have specific cleaning requirements which vary by the part you’re cleaning. To get started, here are some tips that apply to all products:

• Use a soft, lint-free cloth or disinfecting wipe. Avoid abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, and similar items that might cause damage. 
• Unplug all external power sources, devices, and cables.
• Keep liquids away from the product.
• Don’t get moisture into any openings.
• Don’t use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives.
• Don’t spray cleaners directly onto the item.

• You can download apps and updates without having to enter any user accounts by opening the Self Service app. 

• Apps not approved by the district for student use will not appear in Self Service.  A teacher can request an app on a student's behalf if it has value for classwork.

You can now look up your child's Google username and password on Powerschool. Log in to the Parent Portal on a web browser (not the PowerSchool app) and you will see an option titled "tech Info." This is where you will find their username and password.

Some devices may have the time set to Pacific time, that is the default if location services are not enabled.
