The Student Council at Hawthorn Middle School South represents the student body for all grades at our school. We discuss student issues and upcoming school events. We plan, set up, and work at various events at our school. We conduct sales to raise money for the school and we raise money for many charities.
Executive Board meetings take place on Tuesdays at 7:00 a.m. General meetings for homeroom representatives are held at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays.
The Student Store sells various snack items and some small gift items. The store is typically open after school. Student Council members volunteer to work at the store.
Charity Based Organization
The Student Council is an organization based on student leadership, with service to the school and the larger community. Our students plan a variety of activities, and all money raised through these activities and the Student Store is donated to worthy charities. Our students enjoy providing our local veterans a Breakfast of Appreciation, hosting a food drive to help our local food pantries, and working on global projects which will help families living in developing countries. It is our hope that through teaching leadership skills, we can provide the students opportunities they need for their future endeavors.
