Hawthorn Middle School South finished its Pi-Day celebration with the Final Pi-Off on Friday 3-17-17. Each Math Teacher sent their student that recited the most digits to the Final Pi-Off. Nine amazing competitors recited an insane number of digits.
Coming out on top was 7th Grader Justin S. reciting 561 digits without a mistake! In 2nd place was 7th Grader Nirvish K. with 390 digits and in 3rd place, 6th Grader August J. with 375 digits. Justin will have his name engraved on a plaque that will hang in his math teacher’s classroom (Ms. Marunde) for the next year.
