This morning the combined bands of Middle South, Middle North and Vernon Hills High School met at VHHS for a spectacular music rehearsal as we ready ourselves for tonight’s annual VHHS Band Festival at 7:30 pm

The Middle South kids bussed over to VHHS at 8:00 am, and were greeted warmly by the VHHS staff and our guest conductor, Dr. Glen Hayes, from the Universty of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
The Middle School combined groups rehearsed “Prairie Dances” by David Holsinger, and “Reflections On A New Tomorrow” by Robert Sheldon.  We were joined by the VHHS band on “Chorale & Shaker Dance II” (Zdechlik) and “Sousa Spectacular”, with special guest Brass Quintet, The Venia Brass Ensemble.
The students were attentive, energetic and truly reflected well on our school, our band and the high standards we constantly strive for at Middle South!
Tonight’s concert begins at 7:30 pm, and will be simulcast on the CUBE network as well.  Thanks to all the students, parents, faculty and administration in District 73 for allowing the students such a wonderful musical and educational experience!
